Quincaillerie is a hardware business, of the kind that supplies tools, fittings and building materials to trades and households across the island. The name is the French word for a hardware shop, and the Jarry zone is Guadeloupe's main commercial and industrial district. A 4.6 out of 5 average across 14 reviews points to a small but satisfied customer base.
First-time visitors can expect a working trade counter rather than a retail showroom, with stock held for builders and contractors as much as for the public. The website at https://profix.fr/ carries the company's own information. Reaching the Jarry zone from the main resorts is straightforward, as it sits beside the main road linking Pointe-à-Pitre with the rest of Basse-Terre.
Green and hawksbill turtles nest on Caribbean beaches, and coral reefs support reef fish and spiny lobster. The Atlantic hurricane season covers the Caribbean from the start of June to the end of November, which is worth noting when planning travel to the island.
