Restaurants & Dining in San Agustín is the collective food scene of this Gran Canaria resort town, centred along the Avenida de Gran Canaria and the promenade. The area offers a mix of beachfront seafood grills, family-run Spanish tapas bars, and international eateries serving German, Italian, and Asian cuisine. Most venues operate from midday to late evening, with terraces overlooking the Atlantic and the dunes of Maspalomas to the south.
What to expect
- Expect open-air terraces directly on the Paseo Marítimo, with views of the San Agustín beach and the promenade walkway
- Typical menus feature fresh local fish such as vieja (parrotfish) and cherne (wreckfish), often grilled over charcoal or served in garlic sauce
- Many restaurants offer set lunch menus (menú del día) between 12:30 and 15:30, priced around 12 to 18 euros including a drink and dessert
- Several venues specialise in German and Scandinavian dishes, reflecting the long-standing northern European visitor base
- Evening dining typically starts at 18:30, with most kitchens closing by 22:30; reservations are advisable for weekend tables
- The area suits couples and older travellers seeking relaxed, unhurried meals rather than late-night party dining
