Hiking Tours in Tarajalejo are guided walking excursions along the coastal paths and volcanic ravines of Fuerteventura's southeastern shore. The tours start from the small fishing village of Tarajalejo and cover between 6 and 12 kilometres of marked trails. Each route includes a certified local guide, a packed snack, and a safety briefing before departure.
What to expect
- Tours run daily at 9:00 and 14:00, with a duration of 3 to 5 hours depending on the selected route
- Guides carry first-aid kits and provide walking poles for rent at the meeting point near the Tarajalejo beach promenade
- Routes pass the Punta de la Laja cliffs, the abandoned salt pans of El Salinero, and the black-sand coves of Playa de los Muertos
- Participants receive a printed map with elevation profile and a bottle of water included in the tour price
- Suitable for walkers aged 12 and over with moderate fitness; no technical climbing required
- Small group size is capped at 10 people to allow for frequent stops and wildlife observation, including Barbary ground squirrels and Cory's shearwaters
