About this experience

Dance Studios in Cape Clear Island offers dance classes and workshops on Cape Clear Island, a Gaeltacht island off the coast of County Cork. These sessions provide structured movement instruction in a rural island setting, often incorporating traditional Irish dance or contemporary styles depending on the schedule. The studios operate seasonally, aligning with the island's ferry timetable and visitor flow.

What to expect

Classes typically run for 60 to 90 minutes, with group sizes capped at 15 participants to allow individual attention
Each session includes a warm-up, technique drills, and a short choreographed routine that participants learn by the end
Visitors observe or join in at the island's community hall, which has a wooden sprung floor and mirrors along one wall
Suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over, with beginner-friendly steps explained verbally in both Irish and English
Workshops often pair with live traditional music sessions held in the same building on weekend evenings
The studio schedule is posted at the ferry pier and the island's shop, with slots reserved for day-trippers and overnight guests
