Diving & Snorkeling in Catarman is a guided underwater excursion along the coral reefs off Catarman, on the northern coast of Camiguin Island. The activity provides access to shallow seagrass beds and deeper drop-offs, where divers encounter turtles, reef sharks, and dense schools of tropical fish. Snorkelers stay within calm, protected bays, while certified divers explore volcanic rock formations and submerged lava tubes.
What to expect
- Sessions run 2 to 3 hours, including a 15-minute boat ride from Catarman port to the reef sites
- Full scuba gear, weights, and a dive master are included for certified divers; snorkel sets and life vests are provided for non-divers
- Sightings typically include green sea turtles, blacktip reef sharks, clownfish, and giant clams at depths of 3 to 18 metres
- Two distinct zones: a sandy, shallow lagoon for beginners and a steep wall with overhangs for advanced divers
- Suitable for first-time snorkelers aged 6 and up, and for divers with at least an Open Water certification
- Underwater visibility ranges from 15 to 25 metres, with the clearest conditions from March to May
