About this experience

Dance Studios in Mambajao are local training spaces on Camiguin Island offering structured dance classes in genres like Latin, hip-hop, and traditional Filipino folk dance. These studios operate in Mambajao town proper, serving both beginners and experienced dancers. Classes typically run in the late afternoon and evening, with instructors who have performed in provincial competitions.

What to expect

Classes last 60 to 90 minutes, with a 10-minute warm-up and stretching session before each routine.
Beginner sessions cover basic footwork and counts, using mirrors and a wooden sprung floor.
Instructors demonstrate full routines and then break them into 8-count segments for step-by-step learning.
Some studios offer private one-on-one coaching for wedding first dances or competition preparation.
Group classes cap at 15 participants, so each attendee receives individual corrections on posture and timing.
The studios are air-conditioned and located near the Mambajao public market, with street parking available.
