Coffee Shops in Katibawasan Falls is a cluster of local cafés situated near the base of the 70-metre waterfall in Mambajao, Camiguin. These establishments serve freshly brewed Arabica coffee grown on the island’s volcanic slopes, alongside snacks like bibingka and empanadas. The setting combines the sound of falling water with the aroma of roasted beans, offering a rest stop for visitors after the short trail from the parking area.
What to expect
- Spend 30 to 45 minutes at a café, with tables positioned to view the waterfall’s plunge pool and surrounding fern-covered cliffs.
- Each café offers a standard cup of local Arabica coffee for 50 to 80 Philippine pesos, with free refills of hot water for tea drinkers.
- Try the house specialty, a 'falls blend' of Robusta and Arabica beans, roasted on-site in a small drum roaster visible from the counter.
- Snack options include warm bibingka (rice cake) with grated coconut, and deep-fried banana turon, both prepared fresh per order.
- The cafés are open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, with the busiest period between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM when tour groups arrive.
- Suitable for hikers needing a caffeine break, families with children who can sit on low wooden benches, and photographers waiting for the midday light on the falls.
