Bali sits within Indonesia, where the climate is tropical and the drier months generally run from May to September, with a wetter stretch from October to April. Food across the islands is bold and spice-driven, built around rice, satay, grilled fish and fresh tropical fruit, so meals around a visit tend to be hearty and locally rooted. Reaching the island is straightforward by international flight, and domestic flights and fast boats link the Indonesian islands for those continuing onward. Indonesian is the main language, with English common in tourist areas, which makes navigating the island simpler for many travellers. Ubud sits within easy reach of the island's main arrival points, so The Mansion fits naturally into a wider Bali itinerary.
