Surf Lessons in Ubud is a land-based surf coaching programme in Bali's cultural capital, Ubud. It teaches surfing fundamentals using a balance board and video analysis before a pool session. The course suits travellers who want to learn surfing without travelling to the coast.
What to expect
- Two-hour session includes a 30-minute theory class on wave dynamics and paddle technique.
- Participants practise balance and pop-up on a specialised surfboard simulator on land.
- A 45-minute pool session with a coach allows you to apply the moves in calm water.
- Video playback of your technique is reviewed with the instructor for immediate correction.
- All equipment is provided, including a soft-top surfboard, leash, and rash vest.
- Suitable for beginners aged 12 and above, including non-swimmers, as the pool is shallow.
