Surf Lessons in Tulamben is a structured surf coaching programme on the black-sand beach of Tulamben, Bali, known for its gentle rolling waves and calm conditions. The lessons are led by certified local instructors who tailor each session to your skill level, from first-time paddling to improving your pop-up technique. Equipment such as boards, rash vests, and reef shoes are provided, with sessions running daily from the beachfront.
What to expect
- Each lesson lasts 2 hours, including 30 minutes of land-based technique training and 90 minutes in the water
- All equipment included: soft-top surfboard, rash vest, reef shoes, and bottled water
- Small group sizes of maximum 4 students per instructor ensure individual feedback
- Suitable for beginners and intermediate surfers, with waves averaging 0.5 to 1.5 metres in height
- You will practise on a gentle reef break located 20 metres from shore, with clear water and minimal current
- Post-lesson video analysis is available as an add-on, showing your paddling and pop-up from a beach-side camera
