Surf Lessons in Mushroom Bay is a guided surfing course on the sheltered shoreline of Mushroom Bay, Nusa Lembongan. The bay’s gentle waves and sandy bottom provide a controlled environment for first-time surfers. Certified instructors teach board handling, paddling, and pop-up techniques in waist-deep water.
What to expect
- Two-hour session includes a soft-top surfboard, rash vest, and reef-safe sunscreen.
- Learn on a gentle, rolling wave that breaks consistently over a sandy floor, with no sharp coral.
- Instructors give a 20-minute land drill on pop-up stance and paddle technique before entering the water.
- Each student receives individual push-off assistance from the instructor for every wave caught.
- Suitable for ages 8 and up; non-swimmers can stay in the shallow whitewater zone.
- Session ends with a 10-minute video replay of your rides to correct body positioning.
