Surf Lessons in Jimbaran is a guided surf coaching session on the gentle, sandy-bottomed waves of Jimbaran Bay, Bali. The lesson pairs beginner-friendly boards with an experienced local instructor who teaches paddling, popping up, and wave reading in waist-deep water. Each session runs for two hours and includes all equipment, rash vest, and bottled water, with the beach's calm swells making it a reliable first-surf location.
What to expect
- Two-hour session with a certified local instructor, capped at four students per group
- All equipment provided: soft-top surfboard, leash, rash vest, and reef-safe sunscreen
- Lesson begins with a 20-minute dry-land technique drill on the sand before entering the water
- In-water practice targets waist-high waves on a shallow, rock-free sandbar suitable for absolute beginners
- Includes a post-session photo review of your pop-up form using the instructor's waterproof camera
- Suitable for ages 8 and up, with non-swimmers able to stand in chest-deep water with a board
