Surf Lessons in Gianyar is a professional surf instruction programme based on the black-sand beaches of Gianyar, Bali. The lessons cater to beginners and intermediate surfers, with certified instructors guiding participants through safety, paddling, and wave-riding techniques. Sessions take place at consistent breaks suitable for learning, with equipment provided.
What to expect
- Each lesson lasts 2 hours, including 30 minutes of beach theory and 90 minutes in the water.
- All equipment is included: soft-top surfboard, leg rope, and rash vest.
- Instructors are certified by the International Surfing Association and have lifeguard training.
- Participants learn to read wave patterns, paddle efficiently, and pop-up on a stable board.
- Suitable for ages 8 and above; non-swimmers can join with a flotation vest.
- Small group sizes of maximum 4 students per instructor ensure individual feedback.
