Surf Lessons in Denpasar is a structured surf coaching programme based at beaches within 30 minutes of Denpasar, Bali. The lessons pair beginner and intermediate surfers with certified local instructors who teach wave reading, paddle technique, and board control. Each session operates from a fixed beach location with equipment provided, making it a reliable entry point for learning to surf on Bali's southern coast.
What to expect
- Lessons run for 2 hours, including 15 minutes of beach theory and 45 minutes of in-water practice per session
- Soft-top surfboards, rash vests, and reef-safe sunscreen are included in the lesson fee
- Instructors hold CPR and first aid certification and maintain a maximum ratio of 4 students per coach
- Sessions start at Kuta Beach or Legian Beach, with a designated meeting point at the beachside surf shack
- Suitable for first-time surfers aged 8 and above, with separate shallow-water zones for beginners
- Each lesson ends with a video review of your paddling and pop-up technique, sent to your phone within 24 hours
