Surf Lessons in Canggu is a structured beginner-to-intermediate surf coaching program based on the black-sand beaches of Canggu, Bali. The lessons combine a 30-minute theory session on wave reading and paddle technique with a 90-minute in-water practice led by certified local instructors. All sessions include a soft-top board, rash vest, and reef-safe sunscreen, with group sizes capped at four students per instructor.
What to expect
- Each lesson runs for 2 hours total, including a dry-land briefing on rip currents and board handling before entering the water.
- Instructors provide real-time video feedback on your pop-up and paddle stroke during the final 15 minutes of the session.
- All equipment is provided: a 9-foot foam board, a UV-protection rash vest, and a locker for your belongings.
- Suitable for first-timers and surfers who can already stand up but want to improve turning and wave selection.
- Lessons operate at Batu Bolong Beach, where the sandy bottom and consistent 2-3 foot waves reduce injury risk.
- You will receive a digital photo pack of your session, with at least 10 action shots taken from the shoreline.
