• Expect a sound system with subwoofers and a dance floor of 100-200 people; some venues have a separate chill-out area with beanbags.
• Live percussion or guest DJs perform on weekends, playing Afro-house, nu-disco, or Balinese remixes of international tracks.
• Drink prices range from 60,000 IDR for a local Bintang beer to 120,000 IDR for a cocktail; happy hour runs from 9pm to 11pm at select spots.
• Venues suit solo travellers and small groups; dress code is smart-casual, and some clubs enforce a no-sandals rule after 11pm.
• Security staff pat down bags at the entrance, and taxis or scooters are the main way back, as most clubs are not within walking distance of hotels.
