Horseback Riding in Lovina is a guided equestrian tour along the black-sand beaches and rural paths of Lovina, Bali. Riders mount trained local horses and follow a coastal route that passes traditional fishing villages and palm groves. The activity operates from the beachfront stables near Kalibukbuk, with sessions timed for cooler morning or late-afternoon light.
What to expect
- Ride lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, including a 15-minute safety briefing and helmet fitting before mounting
- Route covers roughly 8 kilometres of beach and compacted dirt tracks, with a stop at a sea temple viewpoint
- Each rider is accompanied by a local guide on foot or horseback; beginners receive hands-on assistance with steering and pacing
- Suitable for riders aged 8 and up, with gentle ponies for children under 12 and larger horses for adults
- Sessions include a bottle of water and a photo taken by the guide at the beach turnaround point
- Departures are at 7:00 and 16:00 daily; arrive 20 minutes early to sign a liability waiver and meet your assigned horse
