Dance Studios in Canggu

About this experience

What to expect

• Classes run daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with most sessions lasting 60 to 90 minutes and no prior booking required for drop-ins.
• Each studio includes a sprung wooden or concrete floor, full-length mirrors, and a sound system; some venues have outdoor stages facing rice paddies.
• A single class costs between 100,000 and 150,000 IDR (about GBP 5 to 8), with multi-class passes reducing the per-session rate by 20 percent.
• Instructors are predominantly local Balinese and international professionals; hip-hop and heels classes are taught by choreographers who have worked with Jakarta-based music videos.
• For traditional dance, you will learn the Legong or Barong movements using authentic costumes and gamelan music, with a short performance at the end of each session.
• The studios suit solo travellers, couples, and small groups; children's classes run on weekends, and all levels from first-timers to competition dancers are accommodated.
