About this experience

Car Rental in Ubud is a self-drive vehicle hire service based in the cultural heart of Bali, Indonesia. The service provides a range of cars, from compact hatchbacks to SUVs, for exploring the island's rice terraces, temples, and coastal roads at your own pace. Rentals typically include basic insurance, a full tank of fuel on pickup, and a 24-hour roadside assistance number.

What to expect

Rental durations range from 12 hours to multiple weeks, with daily rates starting from 350,000 IDR for a Toyota Agya or similar.
Vehicles come with a valid Balinese licence plate, a physical insurance certificate, and a spare tyre, jack, and tool kit in the boot.
Pickup and drop-off are at the Ubud central office on Jalan Raya Ubud, with an optional delivery service to your hotel within a 5-kilometre radius for an extra 50,000 IDR.
You drive through the Tegallalang rice terraces, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, and the Goa Gajah temple, with a printed map of local parking zones and fuel stations provided.
The service suits confident drivers accustomed to left-hand traffic, narrow lanes, and motorbike-heavy roads; an international driving permit is required for foreigners.
Each rental includes a pre-trip walkthrough of the vehicle's controls, a damage checklist signed by both parties, and a WhatsApp number for mechanical or navigation queries during the rental period.
